  1. expanded the course to accommodate greater scope and more credit hours

  2. developed activities to demonstrate (rather than lecture) typical industrial, interior and visual communication design processes

  3. taught 3 quarters

Design 552:Type In Motion,” an overview of communication methods, techniques, and procedures utilized in the various stages of the design process.

  1. explored the boundaries of design beyond the “visual” by focusing on motion and the inherent complexities offered by time-based media such as audio

  2. expanded upon Professor Stone’s innovative course by adding content, exploring the psychological aspects of motion and anthropomorphism, encouraging the use of effective cinematography, and stressing the power of the narrative

  3. taught 3 quarters

Design 573: Web Design Process,” Electronic communication techniques related to the web and interactivity; web design and technology principles.

  1. developed a new course for design minors and non-majors focusing a web design process from proposal to prototype

  2. taught 6 quarters

Design 673 / 674:Advanced Interactive,” Application of visual communication principles to interactive multimedia and the integration of rich media resources.

  1. encouraged the the visualization and manipulation of information in new ways using advanced interface and interactivity

  2. taught 1 quarter
